Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information MesTweaks collects, why, and what control you have over it. MesTweaks is designed to collect as little as possible.
Information we collect
- Account details: your email address and username. Your password is never stored; we keep only a salted, one-way hash of it.
- License details: the license keys you redeem, when they were redeemed and when they expire.
- Device identifier: a one-way hash derived from your Windows installation, used to link your license to one PC. The underlying Windows identifier never leaves your computer.
- Connection data: your IP address is processed when the app contacts our servers, to deliver the service and to limit abuse (for example, repeated failed sign-in attempts). It is not stored in your account.
Information that stays on your PC
Your hardware details, the list of settings MesTweaks changes, backups of your original settings, startup app lists and log files are stored only on your computer. They are not sent to us. You can choose to send us a log file when asking for support.
How we use information
We use your information only to provide your account, verify your license, prevent abuse and respond to support requests. We do not sell your information, use it for advertising or share it with third parties, except service providers who host our servers on our behalf or where the law requires it.
Retention
Account and license information is kept while your account exists. Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account by emailing support@mestweaks.xyz. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Security
Connections to our servers are encrypted. Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2, session tokens are stored hashed, and on your PC your session is encrypted with Windows data protection.
Children
MesTweaks is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
